The UK reported the initiation of more than 3 thousand cases on the facts of attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Russia

The Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation has initiated more than 3,000 criminal cases into the shelling of Russian territories by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was announced on May 19 by the head of the department, Alexander Bastrykin, at a speech at the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum (SPIEF-2025).

"To date, according to these facts, the Investigative Committee has initiated more than three thousand criminal cases," he said during the session of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation "The Unlearned Lessons of the Second World War: the Realities of Neo—Nazism," which is broadcast on the SPIEF website.

According to him, the largest number of attacks was recorded in the Belgorod, Kursk, Bryansk and Rostov regions, Krasnodar Territory, as well as in the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol. Bastrykin stressed that the Russian Investigative Committee has now completed the investigation of more than 430 criminal cases against Ukrainian militants and mercenaries.

On May 19, the Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case on a terrorist act (paragraphs "a", "b", Part 2, Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) on the injury of a five-year-old child as a result of an attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the territory of the Kursk region. It was clarified that the girl received shrapnel wounds. The department's staff began actions to identify the Ukrainian Armed Forces militants involved in the crime.

Earlier, on May 18, the official representative of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, Svetlana Petrenko, announced that a criminal case had been opened into a terrorist attack after the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked a private house in the village of Kukuyevka in the Kursk region, as a result of which a local resident was injured. The attack took place on May 2, a drone strike was carried out against civilians.
