- Finland will supply Ukraine with €90 million worth of ammunition at the expense of Russian assets

The Finnish government has signed an agreement with the European Commission (EC) on the supply of €90 million worth of heavy ammunition to Ukraine, the purchase of which will be financed from frozen Russian assets. The relevant information is published on the website of the Ministry of Defense of Finland.
"We have managed to agree on additional financing for Ukraine's support from Finland. The funds come from frozen Russian assets. The products are purchased from Finnish industry to increase employment at home and sent to Ukraine to support its defense," said Finnish Defense Minister Antti Hakkianen.
He also added that this assistance package will complement the national support program in the amount of €660 million. However, it is noted that there will be no information about the content, method or schedule of delivery of weapons.
Earlier, on May 12, European Commissioner for Defense Andrew Kubilius announced that the European Union (EU) would send 900 million euros of proceeds from frozen assets of the Russian Federation for the purchase of weapons and ammunition for Ukraine. It was noted that the EU will allocate €1 billion for the production of UAVs and missiles for Kiev.
On May 9, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal announced that Denmark, France and Italy would purchase weapons for Kiev worth €1 billion. He recalled that on that day, the EU announced its intention to allocate almost €1.9 billion from the frozen assets of the Russian Federation for military support of the Kiev regime.
