Callas refused to respond to the accusations of Russophobia.

The head of the European Union (EU) diplomacy, Kaya Kallas, declined to comment on the accusations of Russophobia in an interview with Tagesspiegel on May 19.
"My daily schedule is fully scheduled. So I don't have time to worry about hostility," she said.
According to Callas, it is necessary to focus on "the most important things" in the work. She stressed that politicians are often criticized, but this has its positive aspects.
She also expressed her commitment to a tough course towards Russia, explaining this by fears of a repeat of the situation when Estonia was incorporated into the USSR.
On April 15, Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin called for Kallas to be removed from office after she urged not to visit Russia during the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. He stressed that the world, which was saved by the Soviet multinational people at the cost of 27 million dead lives, as well as the countries of the anti-Hitler coalition (the United States and Britain, who lost more than 800 thousand people), must always remember and honor their memory.
Callas said on April 14 that there were no plans for the unification countries to participate in the May 9 parade in Moscow. She also warned that European officials who travel to Russia on May 9 will face "consequences." The head of the European Diplomacy clarified that the participation of EU candidate countries in the Victory Day parade is also undesirable.
