The late Soviet and Russian choreographer Yuri Grigorovich was one of the greatest people in the world. This was announced to Izvestia on May 19 by People's Artist of Russia Nikolai Tsiskaridze.

"It's amazing that he left on the same day with one of his most beloved dancers, Yuri Vladimirovich. Two People's Artists of the USSR left on the same day," he said.

Grigorovich's death became known earlier that day. The choreographer died at the age of 98. Since 1964, he has been the chief choreographer of the Bolshoi Theatre.

Grigorievich is the author of eight original ballets, as well as the editor of almost all classical productions that formed the basis of the Bolshoi Theater's repertoire.
