Cancer was spotted in the fire lake of the reserve in the Khabarovsk Territory

In the Khabarovsk Territory, experts made an unexpected discovery while observing amphibians in a fire reservoir on the territory of the Komsomolsky Nature Reserve. Vadim Bobrovsky, a researcher at the reserve, noticed a crab crawling along the bottom near the shore.
As explained by IA AmurMedia, there are two types of crayfish in the region: Daurian and Shrenka. The individual photographed by the herpetologist was moving too fast, and it was not possible to capture it in all its details, so it is impossible to determine which species of arthropods it belongs to.
Crayfish live in ponds with clean running water. The lake in the Silinsky forest is artificial, it is a specially dug excavation that is filled with rain and groundwater.
According to Bobrovsky, the cancer could have got here during a severe flood, when the reservoir communicated with the Silinka River, which flows nearby. It is also possible that someone deliberately launched a couple of specimens into the lake for the sake of experiment, and the crayfish adapted to the conditions of existence in the local ecosystem.
Earlier it was reported that seven attractions of the Khabarovsk Territory are participating in the All-Russian competition "From the South Seas to the Polar Region." It is organized within the framework of the Rosmolodezh program "More than a journey" of the national project "Youth and Children". More than 500 unique objects from different regions of Russia will compete for victory in the popular vote.
