Nine members of the terrorist organization were detained in the Stavropol Territory.

Investigators have opened a criminal case against nine residents of the Stavropol Territory, including eight teenagers, who are suspected of participating in a terrorist organization. This was announced on May 19 by the official representative of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia Svetlana Petrenko.

"One of them is suspected of committing crimes under Part 2 of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code ("Participation in the activities of a terrorist organization") and Part 1.1 of Article 205.1 of the Criminal Code ("Involvement in the activities of a terrorist organization"), the rest are suspected of committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code ("Participation in the activities of a terrorist organization")," Petrenko said.

Law enforcement officers established that one of the minors was interested in a terrorist organization banned in the territory of the Russian Federation. In the messenger, he was asked to join it in order to commit crimes. It is specified that in 2024 he became part of the organization, then involved a relative and seven more teenagers, who are from 14 to 16 years old.

The official representative of the Investigative Committee noted that the attackers planned to attack the police on May 9. It was not possible to carry out the venture, as the activities of the defendants were suppressed by investigators together with units of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs and the FSB.

The FSB's Public Relations Center added that the suspects were not only detained, but also taken into custody. Currently, law enforcement officers are clarifying the circumstances of the incident.

Two residents of the Trans-Baikal Territory were sentenced to prison on May 13 for attempting to join an international terrorist organization (ITO) banned in Russia. The defendants were sentenced to nine and 12 years in prison to be served in a high-security penal colony. They will serve the first four years of this term in prison.
