The State Duma announced an increase in pensions for working pensioners from August 1.

Starting from August 1, the individual retirement coefficient (IPC) points that they earned over the past year will be added to the pension of working pensioners. This was announced on May 19 by Svetlana Bessarab, a member of the State Duma Committee on Social Policy.

"In the current period, starting from August 1, the pension for working pensioners will be increased once again by the points they received in the previous 2024. Pensioners can get up to three IPK points," she clarified in an interview with Lenta.ru .

The MP also recalled that starting from October 1, pensions for military retirees will be increased by 4.5%.

Despite the resumption of their indexation from 2025, workers still receive 20% less than the unemployed.

On May 7, Bessarab announced that working pensioners can increase their payments by 40% if they decide to postpone their pension for five years. She stressed that there are over 7.5 million working pensioners in Russia.
