The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has begun demolishing an Indonesian hospital in the northern Gaza Strip, locking down about 60 people there. This was reported on Monday, May 19, by Al Jazeera TV channel.

According to the channel, the Israeli military bulldozed the hospital gates and the northern wall. At least 55 people remain inside, including four doctors and eight nurses.

The head of the Gaza Ministry of Health, Munir al-Bursh, said that the Israelis targeted a hospital patient "without prior warning." He added that the military also shelled the intensive care unit.

Earlier, on May 18, the media reported on Hamas' offer to hand over nine hostages on the terms of the movement. It is noted that the hostages will be released on condition that units of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) will be relocated to the eastern border of the Gaza Strip.
