Trump expressed sympathy for Biden after cancer news

On May 18, US President Donald Trump and his wife Melania expressed their support for former American leader Joe Biden after the announcement of his medical diagnosis.

"Melania and I are saddened by the news of Joe Biden's recent medical diagnosis. We extend our warmest and most sincere wishes to [the wife of the former US president] Jill and all [his] family," he wrote on his Truth Social network.

In addition, the head of state and his wife wished Biden a speedy recovery.

Earlier that day, it became known that Biden had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer. The corresponding diagnosis was made after a medical examination last week, which the former American leader underwent "in connection with the discovery of a node in the prostate gland" due to symptoms when urinating.
