- The head of the Rosselkhoznadzor announced the need to introduce revolving fines for counterfeiting

The head of the Rosselkhoznadzor, Sergey Dankvert, proposed introducing revolving fines for businesses for counterfeiting. He said this in an exclusive interview with the Izvestia newspaper, answering the question of why entrepreneurs replace the composition of products.
"And why is doctoral sausage not made from beef and pork, powdered milk and powdered eggs, or, for example, should Brunswick sausage contain poultry? Well, it's clear that it's cheaper for the manufacturer.… If we talk about the reasons, then this is a tangle of problems that has developed historically, and which no one wants to untangle yet," the head of the service explained.
According to him, today it is difficult for businesses to manufacture products that comply with GOST, so entrepreneurs are guided by more favorable technical conditions for them.
"It's easier for them now with the technical conditions. The manufacturer develops, approves and modifies them himself. The manufacturer declares that it produces saury from iwashi. As a result, it is produced as a "special saury" according to technical conditions. There are generally recognized product names. If canned food is made from saury, then they should be made from saury, and not from any other fish. Currently, there is no punishment for this. It is necessary to introduce revolving fines for such violations," Sergey Dankvert emphasized.
