Bucharest Mayor leads Romanian presidential election after 53% of votes counted


Bucharest Mayor Nicusor Dan is leading in the second round of the Romanian presidential election with 50.57% after 53.12% of the votes were counted. This was announced on May 18 by the Central Election Bureau of the country.
The head of the opposition Alliance for the Unification of Romanians (AUR), George Simion, in turn, ranks second with 49.43%.
