In the village of Kunki in the Dahadaevsky district of Dagestan, an ancient bridge built back in the 15th century partially collapsed due to heavy rains. This was announced on May 18 by deputy of the district legislative assembly Salikh Salikhov in an interview with TASS.

"There is a threat of a complete collapse of a vital facility for villagers, from where children go to school, and there is no other road. This bridge connects two parts of the village, pastures, and currently no traffic is allowed," Salikhov said.

The ancient building in the republic is recognized as an object of historical heritage of regional significance. The deputy added that various authorities had repeatedly applied for its repair, but had not received a result.

The Agency for the Protection of the cultural heritage of Dagestan clarified to RIA Novosti that the bridge was traditionally built in the mountains from wooden logs with an earthen slope on top. Over time, its wooden parts rotted away, and it became of limited use.

On May 14, the press service of the Prosecutor's office of the Amur region reported that the only wooden bridge between the city of Zeya and the village of Polyakovsky burned down in the Zeya district. The bridge ran through the Glubokoe key, and as a result of its destruction, there is no transport connection to the settlement. The prosecutor's office launched an investigation into the fire.
