- The media reported on Belgium's plans to transfer 20 Cerber air defense systems and a Leopard tank to Ukraine.

This year, Brussels plans to transfer to Kiev a new package of military assistance worth € 1 billion, which will include, among other things, 20 Cerber air defense systems. This was reported on May 18 by the Belgian portal Tijd.
In addition, the batch will include one German Leopard tank with a new gun turret, as well as armored ambulances.
In total, the package will contain more than 16 thousand weapons. The delivery will include Unimog vehicles, five unmanned naval vessels, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), night vision goggles, helmets, medical equipment, drone detection equipment, and protective clothing.
Earlier, on May 6, Belgian Defense Minister Franken announced that the country had postponed the transfer of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine indefinitely due to the delay in deliveries of F-35 aircraft from the United States.
Before that, on March 7, the Belgian Minister of Defense announced the supply of weapons to Kiev for € 1 billion. The aid package reportedly also included the supply of F-16 fighter jets. Franken added that €216 million will be used to purchase artillery shells as part of the Czech artillery initiative.
