President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has sent a letter to his American counterpart Donald Trump with new proposals for cooperation in the military-industrial and trade spheres. This was announced on May 18 in the press service of the office of the Ukrainian leader.

"Special attention is paid to the implementation of the economic partnership agreement between Ukraine and the United States. The head of state noted that he had sent a letter to President Trump with new proposals for cooperation in the defense, industrial and trade spheres," the statement said.

Earlier in the day, Vance and Zelensky met at the Vatican for the first time since their public spat at the White House in February. The two politicians shook hands, smiling.
