Mikhail Khubutia, the former Minister of Trade of the Moscow Region, was captured by a surveillance camera at the house of his former lover Yulia Wang on the night he attacked her with an axe. Video surveillance footage is published by Izvestia on May 18.

The video shows how Hubutia hurriedly leaves the territory of the cottage village "Trekhgorka-5" in Odintsovo, near Moscow, where Wang lives.

On April 24, 2025, a conflict broke out between Hubutia and a woman based on personal hostility. During the quarrel, the man struck the victim with the butt of an axe. As a result, the girl received a closed fracture of the hand, wounds and bruises of the limbs.

On May 17, Khubutia voluntarily appeared before the investigating authorities and confessed to assaulting his ex-lover. The Tverskoy District Court of Moscow placed him under house arrest for a period of one month and 11 days.
