The Russian economy has learned to develop in the face of external constraints and, in some cases, benefits from them. This was stated on May 18 by Maxim Oreshkin, Deputy head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation, to Pavel Zarubin, a VGTRK journalist.

"The Russian economy has already learned to live under these external constraints. And some of them, and many of them, are actually being used to their advantage," TASS quoted Oreshkin as saying.

He noted that Russian business demonstrates the ability to adapt to new conditions. At the same time, he called Western statements about the difficulties in the Russian economy "virtuality."

"There is confident, steady economic growth in Russia, record low unemployment," Oreshkin stressed.

On May 13, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia's economic stability was largely made possible by the active support of the business community. The Russian leader noted that despite all the difficulties and the so-called external pressure, last year Russia still managed to achieve significant growth for both the country and the global economy.
