At least 125 people were killed in early morning Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip. This was reported on May 18 by the Qatari TV channel Al Jazeera, citing medical sources.

"Israeli forces continue bombing Gaza, killing at least 125 Palestinians since dawn," the article said.

It is specified that 36 of the dead were killed in a refugee camp in the Al-Mawasi area of Khan Yunis.

According to the Ministry of Health of the Palestinian enclave, 361 injured people have been taken to hospitals in the last 24 hours. Among those killed were five Palestinians, whose bodies were recovered from the rubble. The number of victims has increased to 53,339 since October 7, 2023, with 121,034 Palestinians injured.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that the head of the military wing of the radical Palestinian movement Hamas, Mohammed Sinwar, was found dead in a tunnel under Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip. Sinwar was eliminated as a result of Israeli airstrikes a few days ago in the area of the European Hospital east of Khan Yunis.

On May 13, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the country's army would enter the Gaza Strip in the coming days to completely defeat the radical Palestinian movement Hamas. According to him, the fighting will not stop until the goal is achieved. Even if the Palestinian movement releases 10 hostages, the Israeli side will not stop, the Prime Minister stressed.
