The media reported on Trump's "pay-for-access" foreign policy

US President Donald Trump has restructured the country's foreign policy based on the "pay for access" principle, including gifts from foreign leaders. This was reported on May 18 by The Guardian newspaper, citing former White House lawyers.
"The White House is remaking US foreign policy in accordance with the code of payment for access, which overshadows past administrations with Trump's characteristic excesses," the material says.
Also, according to the newspaper's sources, the White House is sending a signal that the US position is "being sold to the highest bidder." At the same time, the gifts, "in particular, a potential gift in the form of an airplane from Qatar," led to a series of condemnations, as there are concerns that such actions by the American leader violate the US constitution.
"Quite often, the final result also benefits Trump himself. According to press estimates, his family's wealth has grown by more than $3 billion," the publication says.
On May 12, it was reported that the Trump administration is preparing to accept a Boeing 747-8 worth about $400 million from the royal family of Qatar for use as the presidential Air Force One aircraft. It was noted that this could be "the most valuable gift ever given to the United States by a foreign government." On the same day, the United States demanded to launch an investigation into Trump's plans to accept the gift.
