David Beckham presented Alexander Ovechkin with cleats in honor of the NHL record

Former Real Madrid and England football player David Beckham presented Russian hockey player and Washington Capitals captain Alexander Ovechkin with a collectible pair of cleats in honor of his record in the National Hockey League (NHL) regular season championships. This was announced on May 18 by the wife of the hockey player Anastasia Shubskaya on the Instagram social network (owned by Meta, its activities are recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).
"Huge congratulations on the 895 goals. A little more than mine," the footballer wrote on the shoe.
The donated boots are included in the collection of the adidas Copa Mundial brand.
Ovechkin scored his 895th goal in the NHL regular season on April 6 in a match against the New York Islanders, breaking Wayne Gretzky's record of 894 goals scored. During the gala evening in honor of his sniper record in the regular NHL championships, the Russian striker was presented with a kid. The gift was presented to the athlete by his long-time Swedish teammate Niklas Backstrom. He was also presented with a gold hockey stick and a premium watch.
