The head of the military wing of the radical Palestinian movement Hamas, Mohammed Sinwar, was found dead in a tunnel under Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip. This was reported on May 18 by Al Hadath TV channel.

"Al Hadath sources have confirmed that the body of Mohammed Sinwar and 10 of his assistants were found inside the tunnel in Khan Yunis," the article says.

According to sources, Sinwar was eliminated as a result of Israeli airstrikes a few days ago in the area of the European Hospital east of Khan Yunis.

Among other things, the channel's interlocutor reported that the commander of the Rafah brigade, Mohammed Shabana, was eliminated during Israeli airstrikes.

On May 15, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the elimination of one of the key financiers of Hamas, Jasser Hussein Ali Shamiya, in the Gaza Strip. According to the Israeli army's press service, he was responsible for fundraising for the military wing of the radical Palestinian movement.

On April 13, Israel attacked the town of Khan Yunis, targeting Sinwar. He was in an underground facility that was attacked under a European hospital. It was noted that it was unknown whether the operation led to his death, but other senior members of the organization were present at the scene.
