Citizens of the Russian Federation with disabilities can put a dash in their passport instead of a signature. This was announced on May 18 by the press service of the General Directorate for Migration (GUVM). The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

"Instead of a signature, a dash is put only in the case when a citizen of the Russian Federation is unable due to physical inability to affix his signature," the Telegram channel says.

The Interior Ministry clarified that the concept of "signature" is not fixed at the legislative level in the state. The department also reminded that in case of a decision to change the signature, it is necessary to issue a new document.

On March 29, the GUVM of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia listed actions in case of passport loss abroad. So, a citizen should contact the Russian embassy so that intruders cannot use the lost passport. At the same time, the foreign passport will be marked by the Ministry of Internal Affairs as invalid from the date of receipt of the relevant message from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia.
