The FBI recognized a car bombing in California as a terrorist act.

The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has recognized a car bomb explosion near a reproductive medicine clinic in Palm Springs, California, as a terrorist act. This was announced on May 18 by Akeel Davis, assistant to the head of the FBI office in Los Angeles, during a press conference.
"Make no mistake, this is a deliberate act of terrorism," CBS News quoted him as saying.
According to him, this incident "is probably one of the largest bomb investigations that have been conducted in Southern California."
Palm Springs Police Chief Andy Mills called the incident an act of terrorism.
The car exploded on May 17. As a result, one person was killed and five others were injured. A law enforcement source said there was no information about the victims or possible motives yet, but a fertility clinic could have been the target of the attack. The next day, on May 18, the country's Minister of Justice and Attorney General, Pam Bondi, announced that the FBI had launched an investigation into the explosion.
