The media reported the death of 78 people in the Gaza Strip as a result of IDF strikes.

At least 78 people have been killed in strikes by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in the Gaza Strip. This was reported by the Qatari TV channel Al Jazeera on Sunday, May 18.

"Sources in the medical field told the TV channel that 78 people have been killed since midnight as a result of Israeli bombardments of the northern, central and southern parts of the Gaza Strip," the publication said.

It was also noted that large-scale operations were carried out in Palestine against Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip.

Meanwhile, Israel is planning a new military operation.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that at least 36 people were killed as a result of Israeli Air Force strikes on the southern Gaza Strip. The dead and injured were taken to the Kuwait Field Hospital and to the Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis.

Prior to that, on May 17, the IDF announced plans to expand its military operation in the Gaza Strip. It was clarified that the Israeli military continues to seek the release of hostages and the destruction of the radical Palestinian movement Hamas.
