Alexander Ovechkin, a Russian hockey player and captain of the Washington Capitals, will return to Russia in the near future. This was announced on Saturday, May 17, by the representative of the hockey player Gleb Chistyakov.

"Alexander plans to return in the near future. He will be in Moscow by the summer," Sport-Express quotes Chistyakov as saying.

At the same time, Ovechkin's representative did not name the exact date of the hockey player's return.

Earlier, on May 16, HC Carolina Hurricanes defeated Washington Capitals in the fifth match of the second round of the NHL playoffs. The meeting ended with a score 3:1 (1:1, 0:0, 2:0). Also, following the results of the match, the Washington Capitals completed their Stanley Cup performance.
