Navy sailing ship with 200 people on board crashed into Brooklyn Bridge


A sailing vessel of the Mexican Navy with 277 people on board collided with the Brooklyn Bridge in New York, resulting in casualties. This was reported on Saturday, May 17, by the New York Post (NYP) newspaper, citing firefighters.
"A huge sailing ship of the Mexican Navy, making a holiday visit to New York, crashed into the Brooklyn Bridge late on Saturday evening (May 17. — Ed.), <...> several crew members were seriously injured," the newspaper writes.
As indicated, one of the masts fell to the deck immediately as a result of the collision. The exact number of victims is not specified.
Earlier in the day, the Yle portal reported that two civilian helicopters collided in the sky over an airfield in the community of Eura in the Finnish region of Satakunta. According to media reports, both aircraft fell to the ground after the accident. Specialists and law enforcement officers promptly arrived at the scene of the emergency.
