The military personnel of the Zapad group of forces were awarded for their achievements in the SVO zone.

An award ceremony was held in the special military operation zone for servicemen of the 20th Guards Combined Arms Army of the Zapad group of Forces for successfully completing tasks in the Krasnolimansk area. This was announced on Sunday, May 18, by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

The state awards to the soldiers who distinguished themselves during the fighting were presented by the army commander, Major General Roman Yurchenko. The solemn event took place near the front line.

More than 30 servicemen who showed courage, perseverance and high professionalism in carrying out combat missions received medals for Bravery, Zhukov and Suvorov, as well as St. George Crosses of the IV degree.

The Commander noted the excellent combat training of the personnel and thanked them for the successful completion of their tasks. After the ceremony, the servicemen immediately returned to their duties.

Many fighters of the Zapad group of forces have already been awarded state and departmental awards for heroism during their military operations. Such recognition strengthens the morale of the military and highlights their contribution to achieving goals.

Earlier, on April 30, Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov congratulated the servicemen of the 1st Guards Sevastopol Red Banner Order of Alexander Nevsky Motorized Rifle Regiment named after the 60th anniversary of the USSR on the liberation of the settlement of Novoe in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). For courage and heroism during combat missions, more than 900 soldiers of the regiment were presented with state awards and departmental insignia.
