In the Lena region of Yakutia, one person was killed and four injured in a fire in a private apartment building. This was announced on Sunday, May 18, by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Sakha.

"At the time of the arrival of the first fire and rescue unit, the house was burning with an open flame," the department said in a statement on its Telegram channel.

At the scene of the fire, rescuers found the body of the deceased and four victims, three of whom were children.

21 people and seven pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing the 96-square-meter fire.

In the town of Seltso, Bryansk region, a house caught fire on the night of May 17, killing two men and a woman. Firefighters found the bodies of 57-year-old and 63-year-old men and a 65-year-old woman while dismantling burnt structures. The fire destroyed the roof of the house and damaged all property.
