At least 36 people were killed as a result of Israeli Air Force strikes on the southern Gaza Strip. This was reported on Sunday, May 18, by the Qatari TV channel Al Jazeera.

"The death toll from attacks on a tent camp where displaced Palestinians were sheltering in southern Gaza has increased to 36 people," the TV channel said.

The dead and injured were taken to the Kuwait Field Hospital and to the Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis.

Earlier, on May 17, the IDF announced plans to expand its military operation in the Gaza Strip. It was clarified that the Israeli military continues to seek the release of hostages and the destruction of the radical Palestinian movement Hamas.

Prior to that, on May 16, Al Jazeera TV channel reported the deaths of more than 100 people in the Gaza Strip as a result of IDF strikes. Among other things, the Israeli army struck a civilian car in the exclave, killing four people, including three children.
