The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) recorded a rocket launch from Yemen. This was announced on Sunday, May 18, by the army's press service.

"The IDF has detected a rocket launch from Yemen towards Israel," the agency said in a statement on its Telegram channel.

Later, the IDF reported that it had successfully intercepted the missile.

Earlier, on May 17, the IDF announced plans to expand its military operation in the Gaza Strip. It was clarified that the Israeli military continues to seek the release of hostages and the destruction of the radical Palestinian movement Hamas.

Prior to that, on May 16, Al Jazeera TV channel reported the deaths of more than 100 people in the Gaza Strip as a result of IDF strikes. Among other things, the Israeli army struck a civilian car in the exclave, killing four people, including three children.
