On May 17, the Moscow Department of Health warned residents of the capital about the increased incidence of fraud with an offer to make an appointment with a doctor.

"Fraud cases have become more frequent: You may receive a call from the clinic and be asked to make an appointment with a doctor or reschedule an appointment. Then the fraudster will ask you to dictate a code from an SMS or send personal data," the agency's Telegram channel says.

The department stressed that employees of medical institutions never request any codes, and urged not to share their personal data with unknown persons.

A day earlier, it was reported that a 75-year-old pensioner in Moscow agreed to receive animal feed through delivery, after which she lost 5.8 million rubles, which she gave to the attackers. The woman answered a call from a "courier" who asked her to dictate a code from an SMS message to deliver her pet food.
