The body of a seven-year-old girl was found in the Zaporozhye region.

The body of a seven-year-old girl with signs of violent death was found near a forest belt in Berdyansk, Zaporizhia region. This was reported on May 17 in the press service of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

"According to preliminary data, on May 16, 2025, a seven-year-old girl went for a walk in the courtyard of a house in the city of Berdyansk with other children. On May 17, her body with signs of violent death was found in the forest belt area," the department wrote on its Telegram channel.

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation clarified that a criminal case had been opened into the murder of a minor.

It is specified that forensic investigators of the main Directorate of Criminology and experts of the Donetsk branch of the forensic expert center of the department were sent to the scene of the incident.

Earlier, on May 15, the Governor of the Zaporizhia region, Yevgeny Balitsky, announced that a civilian had died in an attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on the Zaporizhia region. Balitsky said that the militants carried out 13 attacks on Melitopol overnight using aircraft-type drones, some of which were shot down on approach to the city.
