Mikhail Khubutia, the ex-Minister of Trade of the Moscow region, was placed under house arrest in the case of the attempted murder of his beloved. This was reported on March 17 by a correspondent of Izvestia.

Earlier in the day, Hubutia voluntarily appeared before the investigating authorities and confessed to assaulting his ex-lover— entrepreneur Julia Wang.
