In the Trans-Baikal Territory, nine fires of dry vegetation on a total area of 28.5 hectares were eliminated over the past day. This was announced on May 17 by the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the region.

The largest landscape fire was extinguished northeast of the village of Mitrofanovo. The disaster covered an area of 15 hectares.

In addition, 17 man-made fires were recorded and eliminated. In particular, in the village of Holbon, household items caught fire on an area of 4 square meters. m.

"10 km from the eco-resort of Kuka, the Be-200ChS aircraft dropped 45 tons of water on separate fire sites six times," the agency added in the Telegram channel.

The ground group continues to extinguish the fires. Mineralized fire protection strips are laid with the help of special equipment to prevent fire.
