Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the birth of Commander Alexander Suvorov in 2030. The document was published on May 17 on the official portal of legal information.

The decree highlights Suvorov's significant contribution to strengthening the power of the Russian state. The Government has been instructed to set up an organizing committee for the preparation of anniversary events within six months, approve its composition and develop a plan for major events.

Local authorities, public associations, as well as scientific and educational organizations are also encouraged to participate in the preparation and holding of the celebration.

It is specified that the decree came into force from the date of its signing.

In October last year, Putin ordered celebrations in 2026 to mark the 400th anniversary of the founding of the city of Naberezhnye Chelny in Tatarstan and the 50th anniversary of the release of the first KamAZ truck. The Russian leader recommended that the authorities of the regions and local governments take part in the preparation and holding of events.
