Gladkov reported on the consequences of the attack of the Ukrainian Armed Forces drones on the Belgorod region

During the day, more than 100 drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) attacked the Belgorod region. This was announced on May 17 by the governor of the region Vyacheslav Gladkov.

According to him, one drone was spotted over the Alekseevsky municipal district and the Krasnogvardeysky district, three drones were detected in the sky over the Belgorod and Borisovsky districts, two Ukrainian drones attacked the Volokonovsky district and the Grayvoronsky municipal district.

"In the Valuysky municipal district: the city of Valuiki, the village of Urazovo, the villages of Arkatovo, Dvuluchnoye, Kazinka, Sobolevka, Shelaevo and the Leonovka farm were attacked by 42 drones. <...> In the Krasnoyaruzhsky district <...> 12 drones were attacked," he wrote on the Telegram channel.

Another 45 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) attacked the Shebekinsky municipal district. In total, air defense systems eliminated 45 drones and one aerial target over the Belgorod region during the day. As a result of the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacks, one person was killed and another was injured.

Numerous damages were also recorded in Valuysky and Shebekinsky municipal districts, including trucks and cars, power transmission lines, communication infrastructure facilities, private housing, a gas pipe, an industrial building and equipment at two companies. Two passenger cars, a commercial facility and a fence of a private housing construction were also damaged in the Borisov district.

In the village of Ustinka, dry grass caught fire from a drone strike, and the fire was extinguished by residents and volunteer fire brigades.

This morning, the Russian Defense Ministry reported the destruction by the air defense forces of two drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine over the Belgorod and Kursk regions last night.

On May 16, the ministry reported that air defense systems had eliminated 65 UAVs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine over the regions of Russia. It is specified that 43 drones were destroyed over the Black Sea, 21 drones were shot down over the territory of the Republic of Crimea and one over the Belgorod region.
