A captured Ukrainian Armed Forces militant reported being sent by the command to storm by deception

The command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) is sending its fighters to storm by deception. Alexey, a prisoner of war of the Ukrainian army, announced this on May 17. Kovalenko.

According to him, a battalion of airfield security was formed in the 40th brigade, where Ukrainian militants saw F-16 fighters. He noted that subsequently there were few people left in the brigade due to the gradual elimination to other units.

The prisoner of war stressed that at first the brigade was registered in one village, then they moved to another for four days, and later to another settlement. After that, the command transported them to the Donetsk region to take up positions. According to him, the Ukrainian militants were tricked into storming the city.

"Our bird flew there," he says, "and watched everything there. We said right away, we're not going there, we're not stormtroopers. As defenders, we were told to take up positions and defend ourselves. You'll stay there for two or three days, look around, and observe. <...> Well, I bribed you with this. And so we went there, we arrived, and there we were already greeted," Kovalenko shared.

He stressed that the command is often cunning in its attitude, focusing on the fact that "everything is good, everything is good." The captured Ukrainian Armed Forces militant noted that he did not understand why this was being done. He added that previously they were sent to the rear, but at the moment, Ukrainian soldiers are immediately sent to the front line.

Captured Ukrainian Armed Forces militant Yuri Tatarenko reported on May 12 that the army command considers the fighters to be expendable. He clarified that after being wounded, together with a colleague, they spent several hours in a dugout and could not wait for help from the command. According to him, the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine does not value the lives of its personnel and is not going to help them on the battlefield.
