Russian servicemen told about the liberation of the Free Field in the DPR

The military personnel of the Vostok group of forces told the details of the operation to liberate the village of Volnoye Pole in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). The footage was provided by the Russian Defense Ministry on Saturday, May 17.
It is specified that the operation began with targeted drone strikes on positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Then the assault units of the 5th Guards Combined Arms Army entered the Free Field and carried out a final sweep of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. During the mission, Ukrainian militants were captured, mine-explosive devices were discovered and neutralized, and a significant amount of weapons and other military equipment were seized.
"The enemy snapped, but we began to press the nearest landings and villages from the flanks, and our UAV operators began to dismantle their dugouts and basements so that they could not gain a foothold there," said the drone operator with the call sign Yezid.
And the deputy commander of the company with the call sign Karachai said that the enemy prefers contactless combat: drones and artillery. However, despite the good equipment of the Ukrainian militants, they "faltered" upon direct contact. The military added that the Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters were already "exhausted", having failed to resist the Russian military.
On May 15, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that the Russian Armed Forces had liberated the settlements of Torskoye and Novoaleksandrovka in the DPR. According to the military department, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost three ammunition depots, 11 vehicles, about 240 military personnel, as well as two armored combat vehicles.
