NBC has learned about US plans to resettle Palestinians in Libya

The administration of US President Donald Trump is preparing a plan to resettle a million Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to Libya in exchange for the unfreezing of several billion dollars. This was reported on May 16 by NBC News, citing sources.
"In exchange for the resettlement of the Palestinians, the administration [of the American leader] will potentially allocate billions of dollars to Libya from funds that the United States froze more than 10 years ago," the publication says.
In addition, the United States is considering offering Palestinians free accommodation, scholarships, and other financial incentives.
The authors of the article expressed the opinion that moving so many people to Libya could put a huge strain on it. The difficulty also lies in the very desire of the Palestinians to leave their homeland.
At the same time, according to the publication, Israel is aware of the plan.
Earlier, in February, Trump said that it was better to resettle refugees from the Gaza Strip to more livable places in Egypt or Jordan. He offered to provide the Palestinians with a new place to be built at the expense of other parties.
On April 14, Prime Minister and Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) in the Government of the Palestinian National Authority (PA) Mohammed Mustafa announced that the Foreign Ministers of the European Union (EU) discussed the need to rebuild the Gaza Strip without resettling its residents at a meeting in Luxembourg.
