- Torkunov announced the introduction of a unified history textbook in schools from September 1.

Starting from September 1, 2025, it is planned to introduce a unified history textbook for students in grades 5-9 in Russian schools. This was stated on May 16 by MGIMO Rector Anatoly Torkunov on the podcast "We teach those who teach" of the Mashuk Knowledge Center.
"It will allow students to better understand the historical process, since the publication contains a lot of materials about the role of personality in history, tells the most important historical events," the university's website quotes him as saying.
The rector clarified that links will be added to the updated textbooks to study additional facts and archival materials.
"Today we are trying to bridge the gap in understanding historical processes, to draw parallels between what happened in Russia and abroad in different historical eras. I consider it a great achievement to introduce such an approach into the educational process," Torkunov added.
Earlier on April 19, the head of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, Sergey Kravtsov, announced the creation of a unified lesson schedule for all schools in Russia from September 1. In particular, the number of classes per day, control and independent work will be regulated. According to the minister, such a measure will make it possible to control the degree of workload for both teachers and students.
