- In Moscow, the turnover of the service sector amounted to more than 1 trillion rubles.

The volume of paid services to the population in Moscow in January–March 2025 amounted to more than 1 trillion rubles, exceeding by 2.4% the figure for the same period in 2024. This was announced by Deputy Mayor of Moscow, head of the Department of Economic Policy and Development of the city Maria Bagreeva.
"The capital's service sector is actively developing thanks to the introduction of digital formats that enhance the comfort and popularity of services, as well as high demand in the tourism sector and related industries such as culture, sports, and the hospitality industry," she said.
According to her, the largest contribution to the growth was made by electronic services, education, consumer services, as well as culture and sports.
Electronic services continue to gain popularity among consumers: the turnover of this segment increased by 26.4%, to 101.2 billion rubles. In addition to the already familiar services — online cinemas, gaming platforms, music sites, and cloud storage - new services are actively developing: subscriptions to paid neural networks, virtual assistant services, and smart home services.
Educational organizations increased their turnover by 15.2%, to 97.2 billion rubles, due, among other things, to the high demand for additional professional education services — retraining and advanced training programs.
Household services to the population showed a 15.2% increase in turnover, to 65.6 billion rubles. Housing repair and construction services have made a major contribution to the dynamics in this sector.
Sports organizations earned 15.4 billion rubles, which is 19.6% more than a year earlier, and cultural institutions — 29.6 billion (+7.3%). The turnover of the hospitality sector reached 38.2 billion rubles (+6.3%).
Earlier, on May 15, Bagreeva said that the retail trade turnover in the capital in January–March 2025 reached almost 2 trillion rubles. This is 3.2% more than in the same period of 2024.
