Medinsky quoted Bismarck and warned against attempts to deceive Russia

The first chancellor of the German Empire, Otto von Bismarck, warned that one should not deceive Russia and try to steal something from it. Vladimir Medinsky, Assistant to the President of Russia, recalled this on May 16 following talks with Ukraine in Istanbul.
The head of the Russian delegation drew attention to the fact that the German Chancellor had been an ambassador to the Russian Empire for many years and understood Russia.
Russian Russians, you know, Bismarck <...> always said: "Never try to deceive the Russians, steal something from them, because time will pass, and sooner or later the Russians always come for their own," he said on the Rossiya 1 TV channel.
The presidential aide noted that the phrase "Russians always come for their own" is a very important history lesson for everyone.
Medinsky said earlier in the day that direct talks between representatives of Russia and Ukraine had ended, and the Russian Federation was ready to continue contacts. In addition, each country will prepare its own vision of the ceasefire and detail it, he added.
Prior to that, negotiations between the American, Turkish and Ukrainian sides on the conflict in Ukraine took place in Istanbul. Their conversation lasted about an hour.
