- In Ukraine, a case was opened against the ex-captain of the national team coaching FC Zenit

In Ukraine, Anatoly Tymoshchuk, the former captain of the national football team and assistant head coach of Zenit St. Petersburg, has opened a criminal case against him for financial assistance to the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (RF Armed Forces). This was reported on May 16 in the Telegram channel of the office of the Ukrainian Prosecutor General.
The criminal case is related to Zenit's friendly match against Alma Ata Kairat in September 2024. After the match, the Russian club put up for auction T-shirts with autographs of the participants of the game. The proceeds were used to help victims in the Kursk region. A T-shirt with Timoshchuk's painting was sold for 700 thousand rubles.
The Ukrainian ministry indicated that the pre-trial proceedings in the Tymoshchuk case are being conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine.
Earlier, on February 25, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) charged the Russian author and performer of SHAMAN (real name Yaroslav Dronov) in absentia. It is clarified that the Ukrainian authorities accuse him of publicly approving a special military operation, including through performances at concerts in support of Russia.
