On May 16, First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov instructed the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation to organize training for school psychologists to provide qualified assistance to children with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

It is specified that during the meeting with the participants of the special military operation (SVO) and their families, which took place with the participation of First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation Sergey Kiriyenko and Governor of the Kaliningrad Region Alexei Besprozvannykh, many social issues were raised, including psychological support. Special attention was paid to helping children whose families suffered as a result of the fighting.

"Following a detailed discussion of the nuances of this complex work, Denis Manturov instructed the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health of Russia to provide training for school psychologists to provide qualified assistance to children with PTSD," the Kaliningrad Region government website says.

The First Deputy Prime Minister also noted the need to involve Emergency Situations Ministry specialists in this work. According to him, it is important to provide qualified assistance to children under stress, as well as to improve the competence of school psychologists in this area.

In August last year, researchers at the Alekseevskaya Hospital revealed signs of PTSD in the brain of combat participants. The markers of pathology turned out to be the values of the so-called explosive potentials of the brain, that is, the electrical voltage that is formed in the organ in response to stimuli. The diagnostic procedure takes less than half an hour, and its accuracy reaches 87%.
