The prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), Karim Khan, has temporarily left his post amid the final stage of the UN investigation into allegations of sexual harassment. This was reported on May 16 by the Reuters news agency, citing sources.

"Khan has temporarily resigned as the investigation conducted by UN investigators into alleged sexual harassment on his part is nearing completion," the article says.

According to the agency, on Friday, May 16, an official statement is expected that Khan is going on administrative leave. The prosecutor's office has not yet commented on the situation.

Khan spoke with UN investigators last week in what is believed to be "the last interview" as part of an external investigation into the allegations, the agency added.

On November 10 last year, it was reported that an external investigation would be launched against Khan in connection with allegations of sexual harassment. Then he was asked to leave his position for the duration of the proceedings. However, on November 12, 2024, Khan refused to resign, welcoming the opportunity to participate in the investigation.
