Fidan announced an agreement between Moscow and Kiev to hold a new meeting

The delegations of Russia and Ukraine have agreed to hold a new meeting. This was announced on May 16 by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
"The parties have also agreed on a new meeting," the minister said, commenting on the outcome of the negotiations, on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
Ankara expressed its readiness to further facilitate the dialogue between the parties. According to Fidan, Turkey considers the continuation of the negotiation process as an important step towards de-escalation and sustainable peace.
The head of the Russian delegation, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Medinsky, said earlier that day that direct negotiations between Russian representatives and the Ukrainian side had ended, and the Russian Federation was ready to continue contacts. In addition, each country will prepare its own vision of the ceasefire and detail it, he added.
Prior to that, negotiations between the American, Turkish and Ukrainian sides on the conflict in Ukraine took place in Istanbul. Their conversation lasted about an hour.
