Earlier that day, a farewell ceremony for Shirokova took place on the Small Stage at the Cherry Orchard Theater Center. The coffin with the body of the actress was taken to the stage, and her photo was placed next to it.

Olga Shirokova's death became known on May 13. She was a laureate of the Moscow City Hall Award, and since 1995 she has been a leading actress at the Moscow Theater Center Cherry Orchard. Among the best roles of the actress were Amanda in "The Glass Menagerie", Edda in "Butterfly Tango", Lydia Gerber in "Old-fashioned Comedy" and others.
