- The expert spoke about the positive impact of leisure in the fight against alcoholism in children
In order to protect children from alcohol and strong drugs, it is necessary to provide them with alternative values, which can be facilitated by the development of sports and cultural leisure. Nikolai Grigoriev, a member of the Marketing Guild, shared this belief in a conversation with Izvestia on May 16.
Earlier, Vladislav Grib, Deputy Secretary of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, said that alcoholic beverages should be removed from shop windows in the same way as cigarettes in order to protect children from their use. He stressed that beautiful bottle labels attract attention and should be hidden from view.
Commenting on this statement, Grigoriev noted that people who abuse alcohol rarely choose alcohol with beautiful labels and more often prefer cheap strong drinks or inexpensive beer. At the same time, he recalled that a centuries—old culture of alcohol consumption has been formed in society - and, in his opinion, it will be very difficult to exclude its elements from everyday life.
"Relevant narratives, symbols, traditions, rituals are present in Russian culture, and something needs to be done about this, too. You can't exclude such scenes from books, including classical literature, from films, which many have already become classics," he explained.
On May 11, the Russian Federation proposed the use of biometrics when buying alcoholic beverages. The new technology will allow citizens to be identified if the product they have chosen has an age restriction. It was clarified that Russians will be able to manage biometric data through the Gosuslugi portal.
