The deputy Director of the Department of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation and his accomplices, thanks to the victories of controlled companies at competitions, received income in excess of 700 million rubles. This was announced on May 16 by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk.

It is clarified that in the period from 2019 to 2021, the official colluded with the heads of competing firms to conclude a cartel agreement, which is prohibited by the antimonopoly legislation of Russia. The accomplices organized the participation of their companies in 20 electronic contests for the development of transport planning documents, including within the framework of the national project "Safe, high-quality Roads", which brought them more than 700 million rubles in revenue.

"During searches at the residential addresses of the defendant and at his workplace, electronic media and documents of evidentiary value were seized," Volk is quoted as saying on the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Media.

In addition, according to the official representative of the department, the deputy director of the Department of the Ministry of Transport has been charged under art. 286 ("Abuse of official authority") and art. 178 of the Criminal Code ("Restriction of competition"). He was taken into custody.

On May 16, in Kamchatka, a deputy was accused of abuse of office, embezzlement and embezzlement of about 1.1 million rubles. According to investigators, during the period of temporary performance of duties of the head of the municipality, the accused rewarded himself and his immediate superior, who at that time was under house arrest in a criminal case of hooliganism.
