The Supreme Court of the Luhansk People's Republic (LNR) has sentenced mercenary Oscar Charles Augustus Jenkins from Australia, who took part in the Ukrainian conflict on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), to 13 years in a strict regime penal colony. The press service of the LPR Prosecutor's office informed about this on April 16.

"The court found that in February 2024, Jenkins arrived from Melbourne on the territory of Ukraine in order to participate in hostilities against the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. While at the Ternopil recruitment center, he signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, after which he received a military uniform, equipment, weapons and ammunition and was sent for military service," the department's Telegram channel says.

It is specified that in the period from March to December last year, Jenkins took part in the Ukrainian conflict. Each month, the mercenary received a reward in the amount of 600 to 800 thousand rubles. His criminal activities were stopped on December 22, 2024. The Australian was found guilty in accordance with Part 3. Art. 359 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Mercenary activity").
