Golikova spoke about the key tasks of the Russian healthcare system

The main tasks of the Russian healthcare system are to put the primary care in full order by 2030, equip with appropriate equipment and provide personnel. On May 16, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova told reporters after an expanded meeting of the board of the Ministry of Health "On the results of the work of the Ministry of Health of Russia for 2024 and the tasks for 2025."
According to her, the Russian healthcare system has coped with the tasks set for the past year, but it is necessary to continue implementing national projects.
She noted that the coronavirus pandemic and the start of a special military operation required the Ministry of Health to mobilize all forces. At the same time, according to Golikova, the healthcare system has coped: mortality from key causes (cardiovascular, oncological diseases) has decreased by 2.8%.
"This does not mean that we should stop there. We have quite large—scale financial resources for the implementation of new national projects now: Long Active Life, the national Family project, I mean in terms of children's healthcare, new technologies for saving health," the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation emphasized.
Also, according to her, measures are being formed that will eliminate the personnel shortage that currently exists in certain areas.
"And, of course, we will continue to work on protecting motherhood and childhood. <...> Reducing infant mortality is a key contribution to life expectancy," Golikova said.
On the same day, at an expanded meeting of the Board of the Ministry of Health, Russian Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko announced that the shortage of doctors in public medical institutions is planned to be reduced by 95% this year. He noted that these measures should be applied to provide every hospital and paramedic-obstetric center with qualified staff.
